Why this ingredient is used

Barley is the best whole grain for dogs that tolerate gluten. It has a lower glycemic index than rice or corn, higher soluble fibre (beta-glucans that feed beneficial gut bacteria), and a better mineral profile. Barley appears in premium grain-inclusive brands like Blue Buffalo, James Wellbeloved and Nutro as a deliberate quality choice over cheap corn or wheat.
